Help
AboveBoard gives each association one public page for its documents. You upload and publish them; owners, buyers, lenders and title companies find them at one address. That's the whole product.
Getting started
- Sign up with your Longline Labs account. Press Start your free trial, continue with Longline Labs (create the account on the way if you don't have one), and name your company. Your email address was confirmed there, so there's nothing more to confirm here.
- Add an association. Give its name, city and state. It gets a public address right away, made from the name. You can change that address once later.
- Upload its documents. Drop in as many files as you like at once. Each gets a title from its file name. Choose the category and date, fix anything that's off, and press Publish.
- Share the address. Open the association and click Share for the address, a QR code and a link list for the association's own website.
Documents
- What can I post?
- PDF, Word, Excel, PNG or JPG, up to 50 MB each. Each company has 5.0 GB of storage. Settings shows how much you've used, and earlier versions count.
- Draft or Published?
- Nothing shows on the public page until you publish it. A draft is visible only to your team.
- Unpublish
- Takes a document off the public page at once. A link someone already holds stops working the same moment. The document stays with you as a draft.
- Replace file
- Puts a new file in place of the old one, under the same address. The public page shows the new file. The old one stays under Earlier versions, which only your team can see.
- Superseded
- When the 2026 Rules replace the 2010 Rules, open the 2026 Rules and choose the 2010 Rules under "This document replaces." The old one stays reachable, labelled, under "Show earlier versions" on the public page.
- File names
- Files named the ShipShape way, such as AP.2026.01.15.Minutes, get their date and category filled in from the name. Others get what can be read from the name. Nothing reads inside your files.
- Order
- On an association's page, drag a document by its handle to change where it sits in its category. With a keyboard, focus the handle and use the up and down arrows.
- Downloading your files
- Settings has a spreadsheet listing every document, and a zip of each association's files. Each association's Share panel has the same zip.
- Delete
- Removes a document from every list and from the public page at once. Its files are removed for good 30 days later.
Public or owners only
A public document can be opened by anyone with the address. An owners-only document stays hidden, title included, until someone enters the association's owner code. Everyone else sees only how many there are.
Each association has one owner code. You set it in Share and give it to owners however you normally reach them. Capitals, spaces and hyphens don't matter. Anyone on your team can look it up in Share, so there's no need to keep a note of it. Changing the code signs out anyone using the old one.
Your team
Everyone on your team can upload and publish, for every association. During the free trial anyone can add an association. Once you have a plan, only the account owner can add one or bring one back, because each adds to the bill. The account owner also manages the team, billing and company settings.
Plans and billing
30 days free, no credit card. After that, you pay per association, and the rate goes down as you add more, like tax brackets: $50 a year each for associations 1 to 10, $30 each for 11 to 50, and $20 each from 51 up. Monthly is one tenth of that: $5 a month each for associations 1 to 10, $3 each for 11 to 50, and $2 each from 51 up. For example, 25 associations are $950 a year. Your whole team is included, with a minimum of one association. Archived associations don't count. Once you have a plan, only your account's owner can add one or bring one back, and that's charged right away for the rest of your billing period. Archiving one lowers your bill at the next renewal, and until then it stays paid for, so adding another usually costs nothing extra. If a trial or plan ends, you can't make changes, but your public pages stay up and your data is kept for 30 days. Then the pages say the association is no longer posting here, and the data is deleted after a warning by email.
What it doesn't do
You decide what to post. Posting requirements vary by state and governing documents. AboveBoard doesn't track any law and never says what must be posted, by when, or for whom. The categories are only a convenience.
There are no owner accounts, comments, signatures, votes, payments or request forms, and no tracking on the public pages beyond a count of downloads per document.
Signing in
- You sign in with a Longline Labs account: Continue with Longline Labs on the sign-in page. It's one account for every Longline Labs app, and you can create it on the way. Its email address, password and two-step sign-in are managed at account.longlinelabs.com, and a forgotten password is reset there too.
- A new email address there becomes your AboveBoard address the next time you sign in.
- Invited to a team? Open the invite link and sign in with the Longline Labs account for the address the invite went to.
